Headlands Condos
Dana Point, California
Dana Point is named after Richard Henry Dana, author
of the book Two Years Before the Mast who crewed on
a hide-trading vessel that sailed to California in the early
nineteenth century. His book was instrumental in
initiating reforms for the treatment of sailors. He also
described the Headlands as the "only romantic spot in
California." Dana Point continues a proud sailing
tradition and is the home of two tall ships, the Pilgrim
and the Spirit of Dana Point. The list of activities in
Dana Point is bound only by your imagination: shopping,
dining, kayaking, sport fishing, walking, bicycling, beach
combing, golfing, surfing....you name it. Or maybe just
relax and enjoy a day at one of the local spas.
Dana Point is home to the Orange County Marine Institute, a
great source of information on the local marine habitat. Sea
lions, dolphins, and migratory whales are common sights off
the Headlands.
